About Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast

And your host, Karl Reichert

Nestled among century-old oak trees along Tipton Road in Muscatine, you will find a beautiful red brick Victorian, home to Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast. Once a strawberry farm, the bed and breakfast’s namesake had an impeccable reputation for providing the highest quality berries to the region’s stores. In 1996, we decided to continue our “highest quality reputation” opening our doors as Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast. The rest is history. We have been welcoming guests for 24 years! Whether you are coming for a special night with your loved one or want to host the whole family, rest assured we have the room(s) for you. Come explore!

In childhood, your host Karl Reichert helped on the Strawberry farm. Whether it was making strawberry boxes in the shop (currently the family room), or going with his grandfather to deliver berries, he has vast knowledge of the property’s history, but also of Muscatine and Iowa, his life-long home. He ran successful construction, real estate and mortgage banking companies before opening Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast with his wife Linda (of blessed memory) in the late nineties. The tradition of “Charming Country Elegance” continues to this day. Karl believes in superb breakfasts, comfort, ambiance, warmth and friendship.

The structure that makes up the Bed and Breakfast is a late 1800's Victorian. As a strawberry farm, the house needed a shop. To become a family home in the 1980's, the shop was remodeled to its current form as a family room.  The family room retains its original rustic look but instead of tools, sofas and comfort abound.  The original red brick barn, and acres of restoring Prarie encircle the house.

Muscatine, Iowa is a small river town. Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast is located minutes from restaurants, shopping, the arts, running, hiking and biking trails, schools, churches, and medical facilities. It is a short drive to Iowa City (45mn) and the Quad Cities (30mn). Muscatine is known for its craft and quilting shops and is central to many activities such as hiking, boating, water sports.  The bed and breakfast is quiet and peaceful; a place of privacy and rest. We look forward to welcoming you soon for your stay!
